Does anyone know of a good brand of flashlight for a soldier?
My hubby is in Iraq and he needs me to send him a small but powerful and very durable flashlight. We had one before but we lost it and I don't live near a base right now so I was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions of a good one I could buy online or something. Everything I've seen at stores so far looks crappy. I don't know if theres a certain brand regularly bought for military that we know will hold up well.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Maglite as some have already suggested and you might want to see if you can also get a model that also includes different color lenses. Often times red light or green light is used instead of the bright white light in tents or sleeping quarters because it is not so bright and does not disturb others. During low light operations where NVGs are used only red and green light can be used and also in medical situations green light is better since it allows you to more easily detect and treat wounds. So if you can get a medium sized one that has multicolored lenses that would be excellent.

"Sure Fire" flashlights are the best. They are small, very very powerful, and amazingly durable. They are tactical lights and made for military, police, and personal protection. I used one when I was in Iraq. Oh, and they won't break the bank either, I think mine was about $60. Make sure to send lithium batteries with it in case the ones it comes with runs out. Good luck!

Surefire, they make great lights a bit on the expensive side but a great buy none the less. Espicially since if his rifle has a rail system he can mount it to his weapon.
