I need a good topic for a novel type of story.?
I am looking to write a long story in a fictional novel type of form but I am running low on ideas from which to start. Any short thoughts would help jumpstart my creative thinking I just have hit a wall with what I can come up with.

Your main character is separated from his goal by a wall (Hadrian's, the Great Wall of China, the wall separating blacks & whites during segregation, a wall that springs into existance out of nowhere, and no matter which direction the character turns, the wall is there). What is he after and how does he get over, under, around, or through the wall?

Until you come up with one, send your character on a quest to find an idea for a story (or evidence that there is good in the world). One righteous man.
