Are top contributors obligated to leave thesis statements as answers??

From what Ive read here a lot of times (not everytime) the answers aren't necesarily better, or more informative they are endless web links that just take up an entire page.. Is there a rule about answer length, more =better in order to keep your top status??

    No. It is funny the way you worded it though! They don't have to be that long at all. I used to be a TC, and my answers never took up more than a couple of hundred words at the very most.

    No. People tend to like respondents spending more time on answering; even if a question has a yes or no answer it can seem flip or sarcastic to just leave one word. Length and grammar are perceived to be signs of a more educated answer; however, it also helps to be among the first to respond. Nearly every vote I've seen, the choice was among the first answers, unless the poster chooses a flip answer.

    There is no preset requirement, but those who like to answer (and thereby become top contributors) also like to hear (read) what they have to say. They feel more words - more interesting, so...
