I have a Agfa DuoScan T-1200 Flatbed Scanner. I want to use a third party software. Any suggestions?

The FotoLook software that came with it is too complicated and has NO help file with it as it is for Windows 95 or earlier.

I think there must be some third party software for these SCSI scanners.

    You're in luck.

Agfa provides TWAIN drivers for your scanner...means you can use any program that supports TWAIN capture. Almost all image applications on the market support TWAIN.

Here's where you can download the most current driver:

You have a very big choice of applications to choose from.

For fast image acquisition and image file management, I like ACDSee. It is a very fast viewer and has lots of file management tools, batch processing, file conversion, etc. Here's where you can download a 14-day trial.

For high-end, low-cost image editing, I like Paint Shop Pro. It has a lot of tools that you'll find in the more expensive industry standard, Photoshop, but at a fraction of the cost (USD99 or there abouts). It has useful tools that you don't get in Photoshop like the export wizard that optimizes image file format saving.

And then for fancy editing and keeping up with the industry...Photoshop...which will cost you a nice month's rent if you really need it.

If it's in your budget, get ACDSee and Paint Shop Pro. If not, then just get Paint Shop Pro. For image viewing and file management, you can get Picasa from Google...it's free.
