Raw meat or cooked meat?
Would you feed your dog raw meat and bones? Will this make him more aggressive? Next time wanting to bite you for a quick snack?
Looks like I am not going to get a consensus on this question -- I'll let him decide.

I have no problem feeding my dog raw meat. (She also gets small bits of cooked meat on rare occasions as well.)
No, raw meat will not make the dog aggressive. It is just food that you are giving him/her. The dog doesn't associate raw meat with living things any more than it associates dry or canned dog food with a factory.
There is a lot of hype about salmonella, etc., but I have never known of an animal to get sick from raw meat. (I even asked a question about this a while back to see if anyone else knew of dogs that were sicken from raw meat, and no one knew of any dogs sick from raw. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AntZH... ) Dogs have a different digestive system than we do, they can handle eating things that humans can't.

Go raw. Will not make them agressive or give them worms. HUGE MYTH. Although all meat diet is not good. Balance it out with vegies etc. Only ever give raw bones and not cooked bones, They slinter and a dogs stomache cannot digest them. My dog has only ever been on raw and never had a problem with bacteria etc. A dogs stomache ph should be 1. Most dogs stomache ph is out, usually 3 or 4 (too alkaline for a dog). Keep the diet simple, Raw meat, chicken necks, frames, bones etc, eggs, vegies, fish and fruits. Keep grains to a minimum (fibre can be obtained tru grated vegies and raw bones).
He may only bite you for a quick snack if hes not being fed at all!
Just do what is best for the dog rather than youre own personal beleifs (raw meat is discusting etc!).
My dog never has worms, digestion problems, smelly poos or bad breath or smelly coat.

The longer you cook meat the less nutritious it is. Raw meat is not any more likely to infect your dog with worms than their own fleas, all dogs should be on a worming schedule anyway. Raw meat does NOT make a dog aggressive, unpredictable or psychotic. That was a wives' tale that was disproven years ago. As for the bacteria content. Dogs have a shorter, more acidic digestive tract specifically for digesting meat that is in various states of decomposition. The instances of them getting salmonella or e. coli are fewer than ours. I feed raw prey model and although I'm fairly new to it, I did my research and talked to many many experienced RPM feeders before starting the new diet.
add: Raw diets also have many benefits that I'm not going to go into. The only problem with raw is finding quality, affordable suppliers. Even that can be fun though. As for those mentioning kids, fat and hard to handle.....yeah ok. Seems to me like you guys have no idea because you've never actually fed a raw diet.
add: Going to a vet for nutrition advise is like talking to a child psychiatrist about a lung tumor. It's out of their field of expertise. Nutrition is an ELECTIVE in Veterinary Medicine and many of their classes are sponsored by commercial dog food manufacturers.

Raw meat is disgusting and dangerous. Why would I want my dog eating raw bones and bloody meat??
I cook for my dogs, meaning cooked meats and veggies.
Dogs are not predators, so why feed them like a wolf?
Besides the fact that I think raw is the worst possible diet for any dog, the fact that those who do feed raw (fools!) talk down on anyone who chooses otherwise, or say that raw is the "only and best way to feed your dog", those types of rude comments make me even more proud I choose NOT to feed such a disgusting thing to my dogs.
I love my dogs, so why the hell would I put them in danger just by what I feed them??

The raw meat thing isn't true. It's something ignorant people came up with years ago that has been unfortunately carried down through generations. It won't make your dog more aggressive. It will make him fat and hard to deal with at meal times.
Why would you want an aggressive dog, anyway? You're cheating a dog out of a happy life when you make them angry- would you breed and raise a child to be vicious?

I feed my dog a raw diet and I highly recommend it.

I personally don't like feeding my dogs raw meat, and not because of the whole attack thing, I just don't want my dogs to get sick, I cook all the bacteria out of anything I place in their mouths just like I do for my kids.

i have alot experience with dogs ,meats dont make them more agressive, thats not true,by the way most[all]dog have meat contain...maybe a vege dog food dont, they dont make your dog agressive or give its owner a bite, also, dogs are loyal to its owner and even starving ,it still will never ever attack its owner [if the owner gives enough loves that the dogs can feel].
raw meat or cooked???
alot of people asked this question alrite, heres a tips:
raw meats really put the dog's health at higher risk compared to cook ones.
the risk are:
1]creating digestive problem due to bacteria growth in stomach and intestine .
2]the dogs may be infected by worms!!!which is very very disgusting when they vomit out
3]You will found alot of tinny worms in the "POO" which needed to be clean up ,If the dog is infected with the worms
extra tips
risk of giving meat to dogs:
risk of the bones, cow and pig bones in the meat is much safer compared to birds bone:duck goose, chicken.
because the bones are sharper that may injured the intestine of your lovely dogs.unlike the pigs and cow bones, which may be crushed more easily by dogs .dogs love to chew on big and cows bones..
if you have no time to prepare cooked meat, keep a simple way, just dip the meet a few minutes in the hot water will do.
But cooked and raw meet all also put the dogs health at risk of having worms.
dog food are still the best for healthy dogs .
hope the information i gives helps to have a healthy dogs.

dogs have a chemical or acid or something that makes them able to digest raw meat properly. but cooked meat is still better, and less hard on their system
