The UFC is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada and is owned and operated by Zuffa, LLC.

UFC was originally licensed for California and then got licensed for Nevada. Shortly after that they went on a campaign to get it licensed in quite a few other states but had to modify the rules to do that which they were considering doing anyways. They have had sanctioned cards in other states now, one of them being Ohio I believe as well as some others that are scheduled in the future. Since then some states have reviewed this and have restricted the rules still further, Illinois, Missouri and Indiana being three of them so the UFC may not ever promote a card there-only time will tell.

    Not at all!

    UFC 78 - NJ

    UFC 79 - Vegas

    UFC 80 - England

    UFC 81 - Nevada

    UFC 82 - Ohio

Of the next 5 PPV events only 1 is in Vegas

They do shows outside of Vegas. They've done a few in the UK, New Jersey, Florida, California, Ohio, Texas.

EDIT: UFC 83 is reportedly being held in Canada, Montreal I believe.
