In my opinion, a good high school art program begins with a basic class or two that introduces the art student to as many different mediums in both 2d and 3d as possible. This would help the student to decide what they want to concentrate on. Next, a selection of classes that break off into 2d, 3d, photography, etc. At the end, probably for senior year, in my opinion, a good high school art program may have AP Studio Art. But, above all of that, the most important thing is good teachers. Regardless of what classes are available, a good art teacher makes all the difference in the world.
