Its complicated, it just has to be in the correct format for the Ipod to read. If you tried to open the music video in Microsoft word would that work? no, because Word isnt made to read that format of file. You need to convert the video to the proper format that your new ipod can read. http://www.alivemedia.net/ipod-video-converter.htm
go to that site and download the software to convert your video to the proper format.

iPod only supports videos in mp4, H2.64 video format. If not, you may try some third party software. There are some free video converters for iPod, such as Videora, SUPER. They are free, but always do the work without the good performce. Nowadays, there are so many similar not free ipod converteres in the market. You should try your best to choose the best one. I recommend Cucusoft DVD to iPod Video Suite to convert DVD movie and convert videos in any format to iPod. It is the fastest converter I have used. You can download this software free from here

There is nothing complicated, really.. if you legally BUY your music and videos.
If you do not - you might have to convert music videos. You can use iTunes ot convert music (use CONERT TO AAC option). For conversion of video you can use HandBrake program - convert into iPod friendly format.

whilst your ipod is plugged in, and your on the ipod demonstrate screen, click some thing that announces sync ipod manually, then click persist with adjustments. Then click the track movies out of your library and drag them on your ipod, then merely drop them there, and click sync.
