Help with adult ADHD diagnosis?

Unfortunately society has developed a huge bias when it comes to diagnosing such controversy-producing disorders. Misdiagnosis, over prescribing medications, inappropriately prescribing meds without proper clinical evaluation and supporting evidence to diagnose the condition are all reasons the medical community isn't jumping for joy to diagnose developmental disorders, like ADHD. The only true way to reach a diagnosis for ADHD is to participate in a multimodal assessment across a dimension of factors/conditions. Historical health data from prenatal factors through birth and on going is necessary to establish whether or not the disorder actually has a neuro-bio-physiological origin. I strongly recommend researching any/all information on Dr. Craig Liden, M.D. an expert in the field. For starters, google "Dr. Craig Liden, ADHD". If you feel so strong that you do but cant get a doctor to diagnose you without the 900 tests, then I say its worth it to raise the 900 to get the test. Even if it turns out that your not ADHD, at least you will know. Also, not to mention to my knowledge there isnt a test to determine if your ADHD its just a lot of observation and history of events. My 9 year old son was diagnosed at 3. If I had to go by what you said, I would say you are definetly ADHD. Fight for your health dude but unless a doctor diagnoses you for it, you will not get the medication you need. I wish you luck!

Dude i hear ya, never had a twitch but i know all about all the other stuff you said and that doctor that said your dumb needs his *** kicked. Your in luck tho i got a cure for ya have as much sex as you can go to the gym alot and smoke some weed every now and then!!

Were you like this is college? If so, how did you handle it? I have not heard of a test that costs that much to be dx with ADHD. Check with another doctor. Get a second opinion.

hi!i have adhd and what you are describing is more like some kind of anxiety disorder,which i have also,adhd is more behaviour,and learning disability,hyperactive,disorder,i have the same symptoms as you and its anxiety disorder you should find another DR,that will listen to you and there is simple meds out there to help your situation that wont effect your ability day to day.you worry to much about everything,you will feel better after finding the right dr and the right meds for you.... good luck

900 DOLLARS????...There is no such test. You ultimately need to see a therapist to sort you out. Yes, there is a test, but its more a set of Qs & As than anything.

Your insurance sucks if what you say is true.

Do this test for yourself. Yes it will take time to get the results clarified but you will know.

have you ever tried any relaxation techniques? before trying to go on meds try exercise, yoga, meditation or my favorite martial arts(it helps vent anger extremely well) , if nothing helps find a dr,. that will listen to you.
