Yes, I do, In Kentucky it is a law, a $50.00 fine if you are caught leaving a "present" for the neighbors. The liquid..icky! Can't do much about that!

YES! as a responsible pet owne ALWAYS pick up dog poop. I pick up my dogs poop when in a dog park, in town, or someone elses yard. The ONLY time I don't is when they are running free in the hills. Why should I when there is cow, deer, moose, etc poop out there. As for liquid poop as proper etiquette with a poop bag over your hand try wipe up as much as you can, it just shows you are responsible and doing the best you can in that situation. I have done it many times. Its not going to be perfect but if you can some of it, its better than not trying at all and leaving it. This bothers alot of people.

Always. Regardless of day or night, or where he "drops" it. At night I carry a small penlight torch and still bag it n' bin it.

If the dog has "the runs", there's not much I can do about it, but if it's on the street (outside shops) then I'll go in and ask for a bucket of water to wash it onto the road. So-far, when the need arose, everyone has been helpful.

THE OTHER SIDE TO YOUR QUESTION: This may grate a few people. Just because the majority "pick" up the poo, how many of them then throw the bagged crap in a bush or over a fence? According to where I live, a hell of a lot of folk apply that method. I'm amazed at how many bags I see hanging from bushes or just left at the road-side for someother poor sod to pick up. Shame on them. Others don't like the thought of picking up their own dogs sh1t. If that's the case - get rid of the animal.

Where I live, it's acceptable to dispose of it in any bin, although there are specific dog-waste bins. Sometimes though, you are nowhere near a dog bin, and, if you carry the bag for a while, it may split! - not nice! So, the nearest bin available is what I head for.

As for some not picking it up "because it's in a field" "woods"/ "cows/horses/other wildlife"/ decomposes etc, you should still make the effort to pick it up because its just good countryside manners. For the sake of keeping the tapeworm/ringworm under control, you should pick up and dispose responsibly. I know of many gundog owners who make the effort to watch the dog, then make a point of going and collecting the faeces to minimize other dogs coming into contact with it.

Imagine someone else leaving the poo in a field/wood, and your animal comes along and into contact with it. He/she may not have had worms before, but there's a damn good chance they may have them now. PICK IT UP.

On a last point, I read a quote from a book called "Walking Ollie". In it the owner stated that "The ideal turd is one that you can trip over, and not slide in".

Source(s): Bag it - Bin it. Theres NO excuse.

Yes. Always. You do your best when it's liquid. I've based my dog feed choice on the pick-up-ability of the resulting poop. So, if your dog is not ill, but does a lot of runny stuff, try changing its diet.

I poop a scoop most of the time. If its on a path I definitely do.

Perhaps there should be an extra question - Do you worm your dog regularly? After all part of the reason for scooping is because of worm eggs and the damage they can do , in particular to children.

Normally I make sure I clean up after my dog, ut I have to confess that if I take him out at night and have accidentally left my glasses at home, I don't pick it up because I can't see it!

Liquid poops are impossible to pick up!

I always clean up after it, my dog sometimes does liquid poo, but this time of year there is alot of leaves on the floor so i grab some leaves and mop it with that, (whilst holding my hand inside a bag first, of course).

I always pick up the regular poop. If it's liquid it's impossible to pick up.

I walk my two dogs at least twice a day. Yes, I pick up after them both. And when I had three, I picked up after all three. Am I second in line to Mother Theresa or what!? Seriously though, I think everyone should do it - it's part of dog ownership.
