its illegal immigration that's such a controversial issue, because they come over in groves, dont pay taxes, but still get all our jobs, dont pay for insurance but still get loads of free health care, dont get drivers licenses, but still drive, the list goes on.

I don't think immigration is a controversial issue.
Illegal immigration, that's a different story.
When you have one set of people playing by the rules and one set ignoring the rules to the detriment of the first group, yeah, there's going to be some bad feelings and controversy.

no one wants to lose their country, and america thinks that if they allow a place like mexico to immigrate here that
1--the country will be too full. it'll be like new york all over
2--their cultlure becomes our culture
3--they take control, and soon the problems mexico has in their country, will become problems in ours
4--there is barely enough room in schools for the kids there are NOW. imagine if immigration was ok-ed. what like 40-50 kids per class?
5--this may be the reason blacks say no. a LOT of hispanics come into the country with negative feelings about blacks. i grew up in cali, and a BUNCH of hispanic kids hated me for no reason and said racist things all the times. and hispanics tend to hire hispanics. i hear blacks lal the time saying "hispanics are taking all the jobs" they hire family/friends...that's racist.
yea and the taxes thing. texas was going to shut down the public school system like last year because they had a HUGE debt due to illegal immigrants going to public school. it was taking up all the money and they didn't have enough money for the citizens

ILLEGAL immigration is controversial, it's all bad. We can't just keep letting people sneak in, we are getting overcrowded in hospitals and public schools. Also, too many immigrants are abusing our social services that are supposed to be used for our underprivileged citizens, It's just becoming ridiculous.

We can't let everyone into the U.S. There must be controls. We don't want people who will harm our citizens, criminals, people with contagious health issues, people who will not work and overburden our welfare system, etc. We want people to enter our country legally and follow the laws.
Edit: I agree with Drea (2 posts after mine). In my large company, we have Hispanic-Americans and African-Americans that do not like each other. It's very difficult for other people. The promotions go to these 2 groups because they accuse each other of favoritism. Many good, hard workers are leaving the company. Mediocre people get promoted just because they are in one of these two groups. It is unreasonable and unfair.

Exactly Dani, those of us that were born here and have paid taxes, are tired of seeing people come here and get better then us. I have NO health insurance because I can't afford it. We have Vets living on the streets, but the illegals work, have housing, free medical, and drive newer cars. I think until each and every American has housing, food, and medical our borders should be closed to everyone. We need to take care of us first.

For legal immigrants, the system is Fed up.
For illegal immigrants, there is no system. You sneak in and get government benefits and in some states it's ILLEGAL to even ask about your status!
