It's illegal in some countries but not in others. In the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and several others, it's a controlled substance. Some countries have formally made its sale without a prescription illegal but don't enforce the law, and still others permit its sale to anyone, any time. If it is illegal to purchase without a prescription in your country, you cannot order it over the Internet without risking being arrested for drug smuggling - and here in the US, that's MAJOR prison time!

It is a controlled drug in the UK, and people selling them could be prosecuted as benzodiazepines are a class C drug. They are addictive and can cause people to become dependent on them. Outside emails only designed to obtain your credit card detail, the pills could be fake and have other toxins the UK, the laws are different. Customs would seize them too. Not only this, they could be phishing in them. Most likely, the will not be licenced from a ligitimate company such as Glaxo SmithKline.

Cheap Diazepam meds - http://www.anxietymeds.n.nu/
I am prescibed a dose of 30 mg Diazepam currently after using it for a few years and I never abused them in those years but the addiction potential is huge, and so are the withdrawals which are worse than Oxycodone or any other strong Opiate. TBH I consider those 'minor' compared to the hellish withdrawal symptoms (like all the anxiety you ever had times 100, which is one of the lighter symptoms really...)
Now I can take 100 mg of Diazepam and still engage in things like complex games, forums or have a conversation with someone. But when you add other things in the mix I have been found passed out in a chair or had memory problems like not knowing what you did the last 24 hours... sometimes I forget I am on Benzo's and take another dose only to wake up and find an empty prescription bottle (now I hide them when I take a high dose and write a small note with "took xx mg of Diazepam" so I don't forget and begin to add things like Alcohol or Opiates which is a dangerous combo).
Only take them when you need them, remember most people addicted to Benzos started out like you, so be careful with them and read the link I gave you, many would agree with me that it is a great resource if you need information about this class of drugs.

Yes, it is illegal to purchase valium unless it is prescribed to you. Valium is a controlled drug - it is a Class C controlled drug meaning possession without authority (e.g. no prescription) is punishable by 14 years imprisonment under the Misuse of Drugs Act. No, the Internet is not a trusted source for purchasing drugs. Quite a lot of them are illegal to possess without authority or are impure bastardizations of the same drugs (which are very dangerous) - or, as you suspect, marketed as Diazepam but can be absolutely nothing at all (e.g. sucrose) or very dangerous (ketoprofen, barbiturates, anything). The closest trusted source (clinically at least) is your pharmacist.

Yes. In the United States, selling Valium without a prescription is illegal. Valium is made by Roche (below) and is known as Diazepam. Valium is addictive. The FDA is aware and is actively combating illegal internet sales of prescription drugs. A warning link is below.

It is an offence to be in possession Valium. In any case the likelihood is that it will be seized by customs ( they scan packages) and you will have a visit from the drug squad. They will ask you to sign a form and then they dispose of the Valium. You will not be charged ( you were not in possession).

As Valium is a controlled drug (in the UK anyway) then it is illegal to purchase it. It is a prescription only drug so I assume buying it online would also therefore be classed as illegal in the UK.
