Ipod just pauses by itself sometimes?
Anyone else have this problem and a solution to it? I hear it might have something to do with the headphone jack, not sure.

If the headphone jack comes out, it will pause itself. Also, you could be accidently pressing the pause button. Try turning the Lock/Hold button on. It's in the upper left corner of the iPod, on the top. It will lock your iPod so that you can't accidently press buttons. If the problem continues, than try buying some new headphones, or using a different pair. Any headphones work, not just Apple headphones. If the problem continues with new headphones and the Lock button on, call Apple Support. The number can be found at ipod.com

If you think it's the headphones, check to see if the ipod plays when it pauses. You might not hear anything, but the screen should tell you how much time is left of the song. There still might be something wrong though.
Just call Apple and get service or replace it.

OK first make sure the headphones are plugged in fully, when they fall out the iPod is set to pause the music or video if that isnt the problem, have you tried reseting it, on a nano classic or video either hit the middle button and the menu button at the same time or quickly push the hold button back and forth untill the apple sign shows up.
hope this helps, Good Luck!!

My purely theory is that i understand an ipod pauses itself whilst it has headphones got rid of, so maby you have falty headphones or purely a foul woman section ( the element you plug you ipod earbuds into)

my ipod pauses itself when the headphones like fall out. Its happened to me a few times when im listening to my ipod and i accidently pull on the cord or when my ipod drops, and the headphone jack pulls out.

LOL yeah I had the same problem. I solved this by putting the hold button in the on possition (tab at top left corner of your i-pod. However, if the hole where you insert the head phones is internally damaged or loose, then yes, your i-pod will pause itself from time to time.
