Friend's husband arraigned for felony theft by unlawful taking.?
Friend had NO idea before arrest. Need suggestions of ideas for "pick-me-ups" for her. Thanks.
Obviously --- my friend is terribly worried about her husband going to prison, her family going bankrupt, losing their home, having no health insurance as her husband was also fired (he was stealing from his employer!). Obviously my friend is very stressed, worried, upset.
I'd like to do have some "thoughtful" suggestions that might be helpful to me, therfore to her in this dire circumstance, I would sincerely appreciate hearing them. If you just want to be a turd -- go to the bathroom and don't bother me with your answers, please!

You can tell her that if this is his first offense, he may very well get probation. It is entirely possible that he will not go to jail.
He will, however, at the very least have to repay what he stole but this can be accoplished in payments over a long period of time.

Just tell her that the 3 to 5 years will go by real fast.
