Do you celebrate Hanukah?

I forgot to wish you a Happy Hanukah yesterday! Since most families that celebrate Christmas have their own personal family traditions, I wondered if you have any particular family traditions for Hanukah, other than the ceremonial aspects.

Update:

Oh, Pat - LOL! No...........

If any of you would like to share the traditions behind the holiday, please feel free.

Update 2:

I am not Jewish, I am Christian. Still, this is a celebration to be respected. If you have any interest at all.

    Having been raised Catholic, I do not but the man who owns the Bank where I work, is. Therefore the Bank is decorated with the Star of David as well as a Christmas tree. Not sure if there's any Quanza decorations but I wouldn't know what they'd look like, anyway.

    I love the Christmas .... errrr "Holiday" Season and although I have my own traditions, I would welcome others if I had the opportunity.

    What was once out Christmas Party went to an UN-Christmas Party but that was un politically correct, so it's now the "Winter Gala." Since I work at a Bank, we wait 'til after New Years.

    So, Happy Hanukkah, to all ! ! !

    U betcha! I luv hanukah, merriest time of the year for us jews!Ty, I wish u a happy Hanukah, too.

    Every night we gather round the menorah, and sing the traditional song of Hanukah, and then have the best matzah ball soup in the nation, my mother's specialty, with buche de noel (also my mother's specialty) for desert! After dinner, we open our presents adn my bro and me stay up late playing w/ the dreidel (I always win, lol). And on the last day of Hanukah, we throw a big party w/ friends and family. My favorite time of the year, if u ask me.

    Not personally, but I have had many Jewish friends, neighbors and co-workers over the years. I often sent them a Hanukah card, or gave them a gift in Hanukah paper.

    Not Jewish-but we do. Only for one night though. I believe that any celebration revolving around miracles transcends religions. We have a special meal, tell the Hanukkah story, do a candle lighting ceremony complete with the prayers and play Dreidle.

    Due to the all inclusive/diverse nature of my employer my desk in the reception area is replete with:

    A 20" tall Nativity Scene - very pretty with the figures dressed in clothing made of real cloth

    A framed typed description of the meaning of the Nativity

    ============

    An electric Menorah sitting in a bough with cranberries attached and the attendant frame explaining Chanukah

    ============

    A Kwanzaa display with the red, green and black candles and the fruits of harvest and the frame explaining its origin and meaning.

    ============

    A gazillion poinsettias!

    ============

    A huge 9 ft Christmas Tree with gold bows and red apples.

    As a Roman Catholic, I don't celebrate Hanukkah which is celebrated by our brother Jews. Therefore, as obedience to the words of our Supreme Pontiff in Rome of religious dialogue and ecumenism, I firmly respect and unite myself in that kind of celebration of our brother Jews without contradicting my faith.

    The literal reason is that we've plenty to have fun as Christians that we in no way pass all the some time past to the previous testomony for stuff to have fun. yet another excuse is that it is not our miracle....It replaced into certainly one of those outstanding ingredient while God stored the lights furnishings burning interior the Menorah, even though it occurred interior the temple. As a gentile i'm not even welcome in Jewish holy places; i don't belong. yet, for my section i think of Hanukkah is phenomenal because of the fact God is the only that has delivered mild into my own darkness by Jesus. i like mild. If I even have pals who're Jewish and practice their faith, i could extremely want to relish them, if i'm welcome. My admired Jewish person is Jesus. additionally interior the Bible it says for us to desire for the peace of Israel. God loves the Jewish united states of america and so in a fashion, I do too! As a Christian, I actually have a variety of Hanukkah every day of the 300 and sixty 5 days. Jesus has delivered mild into my coronary heart and because His Holy Spirit dwells in my spirit, I even have mild,mild, mild perpetually. i think so happy and blessed because of the fact of Jesus.
