I have a friend whose son is on Paxil. A chiropractor told him it's like taking meth.?
Have you used Paxil? Has it helped you? Has it harmed you or someone you know? Is there a general consensus on the benefits/risks of this drug?

Is this chiroprator smoking crack? Paxil is a antidepressant that works on the Dopamine receptors in the brain. The more Dopamine you have, the better your mood(simply put) side affects include vivid dreams, stomach ache, and inability to orgasm. The only things you need to watch are: If the depression worsens and they think of suicide, or if the person has a history of seizures, they may worsen...

A chiropractor is not a medical professional in mental health so his derogatory reference is unprofessional. Get a new chiropractor and talk to the psychiatrist who prescribed the Paxil to discuss side effects.

Chiropractors will not give good advise about drugs, because they don't believe in using them. Paxil can be helpful to some people. Is he taking it for anxiety or depression? That makes a difference sometimes.

I have a lot of respect for chiropractors in their field, but they really don't know anything about prescriptions. I have a friend on Paxil. It saved his life. He has few side effects and feels much better.

I will add your question to my lengthy list of why I think chiropractors are frauds.
Getting advice on any medication from a chiropractor is like getting medical advice from your garbage man.
If you really want to get the low-down on Paxil, a conversation with your pharmacist, or pediatrician, or P.A. is in order.
I see a fellow nurse already answered your question above; he is absolutely correct.

I wouldn't listen to a Chiropractor!
If you Google Paxil, you can read about all the possible side effects.
I would trust this site.

Chiropractors aren't real doctors. My aunt has been on Paxil for years and it's helped her tremendously.

Chiropractors are good for hurting your bones in my opinion. They know nothing about medication since they can't prescribe it. I wouldn't put too much in that statement. The best person to always ask about medication is the Pharmacist.

When I took it, I went manic and had a breakdown. It's a stimulant, like speed.... but they call it : Antidepressant.
