PLEASE ANSWER!!! Romantic Birthday trip in New York City....?
I am planning a romantic birthday for my fiance' in New York City. We are only going for two days and neither of us have been there. I have some things planned such as a carriage ride at 11pm through central park with champagne and I wanted to know what other things we could do? If you only had two days what would be the top things you would want to do/visit? I also need a nice place for dinner, any suggestions? Thanks you for all of your help!!!

A carriage ride sounds great.
*While there, head into FAO Schwartz and play a little bit. *Also stroll over to Rockefeller Center and watch the ice skating or even ice skate yourself.
*Head over to The Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center and see the city.
*Since it's holiday time, go to the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art), which is decorated and also has their own x-mas tree.
*See a Broadway show--they're back on so get tickets in advance or if you feel adventurous, go to the TKTS line early.
*See The Nutcracker at the NYC Ballet
*Stroll along and take in the windows at Sak's, Macy's, Bergdorf Goodman's and Bloomingdale's.
For places to eat
*The View at the Marriott Marquis offers a 360 degree view of the city. Quite an experience.
*The Rock Center Cafe--right next to the skating rink, watch ice skaters while dining.
*One if By Land, Two if by Sea--often considered one of the most romantic restaurants in NYC, it has a fireplace and exposed brick walls. It's great for cozy, romantic evenings.
*The River Cafe--located in Brooklyn, you can dine at the restaurant while enjoying water views of the NY skyline.
Enjoy!

Well since you are going on a carriage ride through Central Park you might as well stop at the Essex House for dinner. They had a great restaurant called Alain Ducasse, but that is now gone. The main restaurant is just called "The restaurant at the Essex House". Apparently, Arabs (who now own the hotel) don't have much imagination when it comes to naming things. If you don't want to dine there, at least have a drink in the Lobby Lounge. Great spot right next to Central Park with wonderful views.
If you are going sometime soon (winter)...check out Wollman Ice rink. Have a skate and a hot chocolate and take in the great views. The Plaza hotel is right across the street.

Romantic place, for you guys!
Spend some time in Chinatown and Little Italy or be in the Financial district for an Historical sightsee - then jump in a yellow cab for a quick ride (s/b about 10-15 min) over the Brooklyn Bridge for dinner at the River Cafe - very romantic - great views of lower Manhattan. Call for reservations

Go to Times Square, go see the Toys R Us store, b/c that is just so much fun. Go down to FAO Schwartz and see the giant keyboard , like they had in the movie "BIG". They actually have scheduled shows of people performing on the keyboard.
Go to Tiffany's and "look around" lol or buy something.
Go to the Hershey's store in time square, if your into comics you can always go to Midtown Comics which is on Broadway and i think 39th? perhaps..not too far from 42nd i know that.
42nd and Broadway has alot of things, the Hello Kitty store, b.b. kings, movie theatres, cold stone creamery.
Then you can go to 57th and broadway i think!, and go to Jeckyl and Hydes restaurant. If you are into having alot of fun and don't mind actors walking around the restaurant while you dine, it is a very cool place to go see. It is a bit on the expensive side, but then again everything in NYC can be expensive for tourists. If you are on a tight budget, look for dinners or pizzerias they usually will have the best deals.
Go see the empire state building, i think its about 20 bucks a head. Go see Ground Zero (bring tissues).
Just take in the sights and smells, that is the one thing that reminds me most of places, certain smells. lol im retarded..but its true :)
GO SEE MACY'S!!!! LOL I can';t think of anything else right now, obviously rockefeller center....that's it :) have fun!

Carraige ride in central park is great idea if you don't mind the smell of horses. For dinner you should try top of the rock.

Marriott Marquis' top floor restaurant, called " the view", it's a revolving restaurant. You're going to love it. It's quite expensive, about 70$ per person. It deserves it!!!
