Installing memory sticks isn't hard, but if you don't know what you're doing, you can do damage to your computer.

Take it to a computer shop and they'll install the new RAM for you in no time.

Go to http://belarc.com/ and download their free Advisor progam. Run it and it will produce a repiar that will give you all the information about what memory is currently in your PC (brand, speed, size, etc), what memory slots they located in and if you have an available slots. That way you know whether you can add memory, or whether you have to replace the existing memory.

(It will also give you anything you would ever need to know about the other hardware and software installed on your PC.)

Take that information to any good computer store and they will be able to help you select the right memory.

Once you have the meory, installing it is simple. Open the case, look for the slots that hold the currently memory, and insert the new memory. (If you have to remove the old, just push back the little clips on each end that hold it in.) It is simple enough that most people can do it with no difficulty.

You couldn't have picked a better time. Staples is having a sale on many types of memory sticks.

Open Internet Explorer and navigate to http://crucial.com/

There is a link to scan your system, click on it, Follow the instructions. The results will show what is installed and what can be installed.

Take note of what is currently installed, in my case it was DDR 3200, yours may be different.

In any case take that information with you to Staples http://staples.com/ If you have trouble finding what you need ask a sales rep to help you.

You may notice on the package that most memory chips are backwards compatible which means that newer memory will work with older systems

Installing the memory is as simple as changing a glade plug-in insert.

    just power off the PC

    disconnect the devices

    open the case

    locate the memory chips

push away from the memory on the two clips holding it in

push in the new memory making sure the two clips secure the memory

    close the case

    connect your devices

    power up your PC

for more info on that see

First check which type of RAM is compatible for your PC and what is your requirement and also if there are any free slots in your motherboard. Purchase ram and put it into slot.

Or you can also take computer to shop and get this done there.

First check your ram capacity, then see to your installed software which can hold its capacity parallel to the older one like an add on or it has the ability to work on the whole..

If it can be added then, decide the size and add it to the older one or just pull out the old chip and insert the new one with full capacity..

Ram are available in different capacities like 128MB, 256, 512 MB or 1GB....

Find out what type of ram, plus what's the maximum ram your system can handle. If you have never installed ram before look it up on the net.

First, you need to determine what sort of memory you have. You need to use the same sort. If you can get an anti-static bag, remove one of the SIMMS, and bring it to a store that sells memory, and tell them how much you need. If you don't have an anti-static bag, you might use aluminum foil.

Be careful to ground yourself prior to touching components. Also, disconnect the power cord before working on the machine.

as quickly as you improve to Vista you ought to use a USB flash force as RAM. this is referred to as ReadyBoost and the Flash force has to assist it. Works like this: You plug the flash force in, if Vista does no longer ask you in case you opt to apply the force as RAM utilising ReadyBoost then that flash force does no longer help it. fantastically straightforward.
