Looking to replace metal casement windows?
I have really old metal casement windows. They are beautiful, but so energy inefficient that I have decided to replace them. Can people tell me who they think the best manufacturers are for replacement casement windows. I know that I will lose alot of the charm of the old windows, but want to use the best replacements that I can. Thanks

For replacement windows, vinyl are a good value. You can have optional grids added to retain the metal casement look. Make sure it is welded vinyl. Not screwed at corners.
Pella is a good window but aluminum clad. Very durable but expensive compared to vinyl. The important thing is the glass. Low-e with argon gas fill is about the best. Try for 5/8" thick glass. Insulates well. Buy them by December 31st and the energy improvement tax credit will still apply. Windows are a good investment so I wish you the best on finding suitable ones for your taste.
