Why Might Someone Thumb Up An Answer...Then Thumb It Down Using Another Account?

Strategically that makes no sense.

If the person had more than one account then it makes more sense to vote the same way twice.

Curious that anyone would vote against their own intentions.

I don't see an advantage in that.

The outcome is a wash.

They answer is that they wouldn't, or shouldn't, however; the case may be.

I came across one guy yesterday who said he thumbed people down for supporting their answers with a given site.

People do crazy things.

I thumb up out of appreciation for a person's effort.

I have recently found little interest in thumbing down. A friend helped me to see how that might seem hurtful. I am not here to hurt people. This is not a game to me.

If somebody is thumbing people both ways then they are waisting their time.

Of course, I found a group of people who waist their time reporting people just the other day and that is what they like to do.

My answer is apparently they like waisting time.

multiple personalities maybe. or they liked and disliked the answer and rated thumbs up and down on different accounts since you cant do both at the same time.

They have nothing better to do than mess around on Q&A. Most people I think truly try to help the askers. Then there are those who are just on here to be just plain stupid, giving negative comments, having 2 accounts to mess with peoples minds and just be plain stupid. Too much time on their hands I guess...unhappy, taking it out on the www.
