what is it like to live in St. Petersburg, Florida?
My husband is planning on quiting his job here in Grand Junction, CO and accepting a job at the St. Petersburg, FL VA Hospital sight unseen! He is planning on packing his stuff and showing up there in January. He wants the rest of us- 2 teenagers and a wife- to move down there from Colorado when school is out and we sell our home here. We have no idea what it's like there or what it costs to live there. Can anyone help? I am really nervous.

I lived there for the last 22 years. It is a rapidly growing city. The whole downtown is under construction with expensive condos and business buildings. the waterfront is nice. they have a few good restraurants. they have a baseball team and a stadium. It is near some gulf beaches. Very crowded. all the big city problems . beggars, homeless on the sidewalks, prostitution in the open. Not very good shopping. Need to get to Sarasota for that. No gourmet food store. Has a theatre and movies. Public transport is very poor. the streets are very crowded when the tourists are there all winter. Rents are very high. Low income workers have no place to go. I think it is nicer to live in Sarasota.

St Petersburg has a thing that gets below your skin layer and if you intend to find what it's then, you will have a search with hotelbye . Nevsky Prospect is St Petersburg's major avenue and among the best-known roads in Russia. Chopping through the famous middle of the city, it goes from the Admiralty, mark of Russian energy, to the Alexander Nevsky Monastery and it will be very wonderful to go along that road later in the day when all illuminations on. Here, you can see everything: the most gorgeous structure, the wonderful palaces, the world-famous museums and the sparkling five-star hotels. One of the areas should see from St. Petersburg is State Hermitage Museum. The main architectural attire of the Hermitage is situated in the center of St Petersburg and consists in: Winter Palace, once the former state residence of the Russian emperors, houses of the Small, Old (Great) and New Hermitages, the Hermitage Theatre and the Auxiliary House.

when i moved down to Florida, the weather was hotter than expected but there are alot of things to do. With price, it was pretty expensive for me with pool and air condition. But it was very enjoyable living there.

VERY HUMID. I live in the desert, and Florida is a nice place to visit sometimes, but I certainly wouldn't live there.

I don't know, but Russia looks pretty cool. I'll probably like it there, because I love my Ukraine.
