Scrapbook for new baby!?

I am going to do the same thing for my baby when he/she is born as I don't like the commercial baby diaries that are around. I have been looking in the shop ones for some ideas which I have found very helpful. You may even be able to find a cheap one at a second hand store that you can use as a template. SOme other things I will include:

ultrasound photos

thoughts from Mum/Dad when they found out about the pregnancy, at different stages in the pregnancy and when the baby arrives

Photos of Mum throughout pregnancy

price of milk/petrol/newspaper etc on the day they were born

Copy of the newspaper

Copy of the birth notice in subsequent newspapers.

Photos of course

Hospital bracelet/wristband

copy of birth certificate

If you go on the mother care web site, you can find an actual book you can buy that contains many ideas of things to put in.

You could include things such as:

- pic of parents/ family b4 baby

- footprint & handprint of baby when born

- pic, weight, height and measurements@ time of birth

- a pocket for a pressed flower given in the hospital to mum

- a pocket for the baby's i.d tag from hospital

- a record of how baby settled in on 1st night home

- pic space for baby@ each month since birth

- a newspaper from the day of birth

- memorable evnts that happened on the day baby is born, throughtout history

Price of gas, stamps, homes and vehicles are all in my baby books. I thought that was a neat idea. Maybe the day he/she is born get a newspaper and clip some of the major headlines. Who is president and all that good stuff too. Good luck, great idea.

This is a brilliant idea! I have pregnancy journal but im definatly going to do a scrap book too! Stick picture's of the baby's mum's bump when she was heavily pregnant, first picture's of you and the baby, try get he's fot and hand print. Good luck!

I say you should use the gift wrapping paper from the baby shower as backgrounds for pics. All you have to do is iron it flat (really works) and tape any rips from the back. For the title, you might like something like "Baby's name (in big letters) (in smaller letters:) Time of Birth Date of birth Place of Birth" on the cover. Use lighter colors like sky blue, bubble gum, lavender, etc. for the letters and nice ribbon to help the tape hold the pics in place. A lock of hair from baby's first hair cut and baby shower invitation samples.

How about a till receipt from the supermarket, from the weekly/monthly shop.

In future years, it will be fun to look back at the price things used to be (when I was at primary school, you could get a packet of crisps for 1p).

~hit movies and songs

~get the newspaper on the day of birth

~current events happening

~the hot actors/actresses during that time

~prices of cds, movies, cars, etc.

If its a scrap book have family members make a page for the baby telling him that they cant wait to meet him/her with pictures of themselves and how they are related. really good for far away family like a welcome to the world book

events that happened on that exact day, and on that day in history. the newspaper from that day

baby pictures of their parents and baby picture of the baby. Pictures of the parents.

Get a copy of any one of the daily papers and put that into a keepsake box.
