no i don't think so as a person of a family who rescues animals all the time no i don't think it is i think that he took lives of innocent animals (remember were animals too) who rely on you who need love, praise, food and again love they are like little kids. and to take advantage of them in that way no its disgusting and i think that he needs to do more time and i think he personally should have to clean up his yard (under the watchful eye of gun carrying police officers) so he can see the destruction he caused and maybe he will realize what an a$$hole thing he did

Probably the right sentence. Considering the other two people involved got 18 months and 21 months. He did not have a criminal record. However, Vick was the money man behind the fighting ring. If he did not fund it, then it probably would not have existed. Morever, he lied about killing dogs. He said that he didn't. Then he took a lied detector test and failed that question. He later admited to killing at least one dog.
I think that if Vick maintains his weight and body in jail, then he will probably be given a chance to play again. Whether or not he will be successful after release, remains to be seen. I think there is a shortage of good quarterbacks in the NFL, so several teams will be interested in him after release.

The Mike Vick story is both disgusting, for obvious reasons, and sad at the same time. Young men who have come from impoverished backgrounds often bring with them and maintain the practices they learned as youth. Fortunately some pro teams retain a sociologist to help them make the transition from poverty to richness. One of the topics they cover is past behaviour as it relates to the present. In Vicks case this type of intervention may have not done any good. As far as playing football again, I think not. His team has to move on beyond all of this distraction to realize that as a player the man was extremely overrated and mediocre at best. But that is just my opinion.

Everyone will have an opinion on this....but the judge said 23 months. Personally, I think he should have gotten more time. My guess is he will never play football again. We'll have to wait and see on that one. Note: The house he just sold is about an hour from where I live.

I never heard of a murderer getting less than 23 months, but regardless....he got the time for more than just torturing dogs.....illegal interstate commerce and perjury, believe it or not, ARE taken seriously. I think it's too bad he couldn't have gotten more time, but maybe he will pick a fight with the wrong guy in the jug, and get more. He might even learn a new meaning to the word consent.

If he actually serves the full 23 months, I think thats a pretty good sentence. Some animal abusers get off with probation or a hefty fine.
Most the time they go after the dog fighters, then end up charging them with drug related charges because it will get them bigger fines and longer sentences.

Maybe, as long as the NFL does the right thing & hands him a lifetime ban. Otherwise, NO! it is NOT enough. He was & is NOT sorry for what he has done, he is just sorry he got caught & his celebrity status didn't work to keep him from going to jail....

At least it's something. Another good thing is a lot of the dogs confiscated from the property were able to be rehabilitated and placed into loving, caring homes.

It is not enough time, it will never bring those innocent dogs back from the dead, it will never take away the pain of the other dogs he owned.
I wish he had to stay in jail for life, he deserves it. I hope the NFL bans him for life. He is scum and doesn't deserve another penny from anywhere.

Not enough time for someone who was drowning, shooting, electricuting animals!! You have to be demented to do that and walk away without remorse. He's' a loooser and should get fired by teh NFL....either that or someone should do to him like he did to those poor dogs that had to get euthanized, their life cut short because he apparently had a gambling problem
