How do i change the house number in San Jose, California?

I am thinking of buying a house. I don't like the house number in the address. What are the procedures that I need to do in order to change the house number in the address? Thank you.

    You don't.

They are tied into too many systems other then your mail. The city actually assigned them to the lots, long before there was a house for the post office to care about.

I have no idea why the other poster thinks the post office assigns those. They are assigned when the original plots are drawn out and approved.

Yes. I recall visiting the Mystery House. It was a very strange house. I also visited that Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum many many yrs ago. It was just a few minutes away from my cousin's home. I had not thought about this place in a very long while. It is quite amazing that this treasure of a museum is situated in San Jose. Thanks for asking the Q. It is causing me to wonder more about that museum and revisit. I found one of the links.

Contact the post office. They are the ones who give out the original addresses and they are the ones who can change them.

    Hope
