Do you think Yahoo should have a better appeals process for suspensions?
Yahoo admits that there have been "abuses" of suspensions and violations in the past, why not grant an improved appeals process for those unfairly suspended in the past? My Level 7 account was suspended despite an excellent record for totally unfair reasons, and they wouldn't even consider an appeal. Don't you think Yahoo should correct the mistakes of their past in a fair manner, especially if they admit their have been mistakes?

OH GOSH YES!!! Y!A appeals process is horrible! And not just in regards to suspensions, but also in reference to violations. They just keep sending out automated replies, which is extremely frustrating when a user has NOT violated any of the community guidelines!
The sad thing is that Yahoo Answers isn't always necessarily the one who deletes our questions and/or answers. Y!A's FAQ says that a question or answer will be removed if it's reported by one or more "reliable users." If the circumstance is more serious then the Answers staff may remove a question or answer themselves after reviewing it. However, the majority of the time they're just automatically removed and violation notices are issued, because of the way the Y!A system is designed. I personally feel the whole reporting/violation system needs to be changed because innocent questions and answers will be reported/removed while others, that are extremely offensive, are left alone. It's not the best design because there are waaaaaay too many trolls disguised as "reliable users" who are out to get other users they don't like by wrongfully reporting them.
Furthermore, people who state their opinions are being reported as well. Y!A says that having a strong opinion is NOT a justifiable reason for reporting someone. They just ask that users "do not use slurs to refer to groups of people, do not insult other members, and do not act in a belligerent manner towards others" when stating their opinions. Unfortunately other users still do report opinionated questions or answers regardless of the fact that they don't violate any of the community guidelines. This is EXTREMELY frustrating because honest Y!A users shouldn't have to pay the price for report happy trolls!

My dog could come up with a better appeals system than what they have in place now!!! The people who review the appeals are complete and utter morons. For all I know, maybe they're not human. Maybe they're bots or trained monkeys. So many legitimate questions have been deleted that I don't think they'd know a real violation if it bit them on the posterior.
Plus they don't even tell you what precious rule you supposedly violated or they slap it under the "catch all" of chatting. Geez, I've had so many polls and surveys deleted because some malicious troll called it "chatting" and Yahoo aided them and abetted them in harassing me by rubber stamping the troll's complaint!!!
I could more accurately determine if something was really a violation by asking my dog to nod if it is a violation and to wag her tail if it's not a violation. They definitely need to overhaul their appeals system.

They don't want an "APPEALS PROCESS"
Don't you all know PR when you hear it?
I worked in Government/Human Services long enough to know when the Masses are being Hosed!
They want things to go Quickly and Smoothly when they delete you!
The Appeals Crap is just Smoke and Mirrors for a Summary Rejection and send you on your Merry Way.....
You will never have an Appeal from YA as long as it costs Time and Money and Manpower.

Update: It is now 4 violations!

yes they should.
i had an account at level 6 deleted because they didnt understand i was posing a hypothetical situation & thought i was lying about my age... they even admitted i shouldn't have been deleted, and *at least* gave my email access back (i'd had that email for over 10 yrs!!) but it was permanently "suspended" from answers...

I believe Yahoo! Answers should definitely have more EFFECTIVE moderation. I'm in your boat bro.
My account wasn't just suspended, my entire yahoo account was terminated with no reason.

I'm still trying to get my original account reactivated; nothing I said broke guidelines, but my politics are a bit "different".

Yes they should. But don't count on it, the same thing happened to me.
