You dont change the knob, the temperature control comes together as a unit and can only be puchased from the dealer or a junk yard. The knob is not stripped, its the plastic gear on the temperature control unit. It's easy to change just remove the trim around it and then you will see four bolts that hold it underneath the trim, a few wiring harnesses to unplug and a vacuum plug to undo, very simple.

For an EZ quick fix....try placing a small piece of paper (or two) over the stem and forcing the knob onto it.
