Is it okay to take my piercings out for 3 minutes 2-3 weeks after it's pierced?
I'm in competitive Cheerleading. I've also waited for 5 years to get both of my tragus's pierced. I've been dedicated to getting my piercing upon my next birthday (December 20th).
Cheerleading competitions (on the mat) will last approx. 3 minutes.
Is it okay to quickly take the earrings out for the three minutes, and then put them right back in??

it would be *best* if you didn't... it will more easily get infected if you're taking it out and putting it back in and touching it more often...
but, if you have to, you have to, you know?
just clean it *very* well. don't get lazy about it.
an infection in your nose would be nasty.
good luck!!

Absolutely not.
For one, that transfers more bacteria. The more you touch it, the more risk there is for it to get infected. Especially if it's only 2-3 weeks old.
People heal differently and you never know if you take out a new piercing if it will close or not. I took out a new helix piercing (14g) about 2 months after having it and within 2 minutes, it closed up. It was pretty much a waste of my money because I was an idiot and took the jewelry out just for one minute. You might be like me and they might close quickly.
And if you're going to have CBRs in them, they are a bit more difficult to work with than regular barbells. Especially putting the ball back in. If you end up not being able to get the ball back in and have to mess with the piercing a lot, that can irritate it.
Just wait until after competitions so that it is healed. There is no point in risking it because you might end up wasting money or worse, making your new piercing angry. And angry piercings suck.
Please take care of your piercings. Piercers say not to take it out when it's healing for a reason.

if i were you, i would not risk it. i would either wait a few more weeks, until after the competitions, or if i did not wait, i would buy some glass or quartz (NOT acrylic, because acrylic harbors bacteria and healing piercings can actually stick to the material) retainers made especially for piercings. your piercing shop may have them, or you can buy them online. (i suggest bodyartforms.com , they're cheap and have very fast $2 shipping) (make sure to get the same gauge) and pop those in for a few minutes.
however, if the reason you can't wear the jewelry is for safety reasons, i would more strongly suggest the waiting. it may be well worth the wait!
i hope it all works out, good luck at the competition!

PLEASE do no longer take out the piercing. even if if it somewhat is contaminated, doing this might only pull the an infection via into the hollow and gets trapped in there by using fact the piercing heals up. this might carry approximately great pus-crammed lesions, which suck. This maximum appropriate same ingredient occurred to me and it wasn't incredibly. Tcp may be too harsh on your ear, it somewhat is only tense it and probably even slowing down the therapeutic technique. swap to salt water soaks using a teaspoon of sea salt (please do no longer use table salt, as this might burn your ear) blended with heat water and 'dunk' your ear in it and leave for 5-10 minutes or soak a cotton ball interior the answer and carry on your ear. proceed cleansing it like this, alongside with twisting your piercing ninety stages to the main appropriate and then ninety stages to the left, as this might end it from sticking. in spite of the undeniable fact that, if the an infection persists or gets worse, then please circulate to confirm your medical expert, as an rather contaminated ear is so nasty and could reason scar tissue, keloids and each variety. in case you choose any further help or tips, then please e mail me! desire this helped :)

No that won't be okay. You're not even meant to change jewellery in tragus piercings for at least 12 weeks/3 months. Trust me - it WILL close up!

you can..but good luck getting it back in. those piercings take several months to completely heal (as do all cartilage piercings) and 2-3 weeks isn't nearly long enough to warrant being able to take the piercing out without the hole closing. Sorry..but thats just how it is.

NO! A tragus piercing takes around 8 weeks to heal. IT WILL CLOSE! Not to mention get infected and rejected plus further tissue damage in that area which would prolong the healing process if you do happen to still have a hole remaining. MARK MY WORDS!

yes it will be okay. but make sure that you clean them good ASAP before and after so that the new piercing doesn't get infected
let me add that you "shouldn't" but it will be fine.

piercings should not be removed until a month after they have been done becasue of the risk of closing up.why dont you wait until after your competition?
