What have you prepare for this raining season?
Myself. I kept all the important number on myside always. Always keeping updates with the weather condition as well as the nearby river flow. Well thinking of buying a sampan in the 1st place but dont know where to put.

Since I'm living in a high rise apartment, so it's better thn previously living in a terrace house.
Terrace house sometimes have to remove the front lawn plants, books, etc. to inside & higher grounds.
Thn. make sure the drains & around housing area not stuck/ congested.
Another thing, make sure there are extra layers @ roof top & always close the windows properly else sometimes the strong wind can shatter it to pieces.
Other thn. tht stock food properly & don't go out much.
While living in apartment, dn't hv to worry much except make sure windows well shut, don't go out much - food, etc all well stocked.
Working in KL (certain areas) sometimes got flash flood, so either I bring (extra clothes store @ office), umbrella & wear higher heel booths (those lk climbing trekking type :D) which is great to walk on watery paths..so won't get wet.
Other thn. tht. always keep myself warm & eat supplements coz. easy to get sick during cold rainy days. I'm recovering from a week of cold & flu coz. always got wet due to the heavy windy rain.

Hi,
I dont know what you do in Malaysia but here in Taiwan we keep a kit for Typhoons and Earthquakes : Large bottles of Drinking water, Biscuits (You need water and heat for packet noodles) Powerful Torchlight, Whistle (To raise Alarm if people cant see you in the dark) Panadol
Instead of a Sampan, is it more expensive to buy an inflatable life raft in Malaysia??
Note: Emergency numbers work only if the lines are not afftected by the storm-so you have to provide for yourself and your family for a few days.

oh my..how's terengganu nowadays?..i hope everything is okay with you up there..
To me, i think you should pack an emergency bag click here http://www.weather.com/ready/supplykit.html this will help you during any emergencies..buying a sampan is actually a good idea.. perhaps you just keep it INSIDE you house in case it will flow away when its banjir.. keep the sampan together with your emergency bag so that you wont get panic searching for your things.
sincerely, hope everything will be okay with you..
p/s- thank god, my place is up on the hills..otherwise..banjir laa tempat mak..
