Have you ever just wanted to leave everything behind and start a new life ?

I did.

One day, I just decided I needed something new and after planning for 3 months, I moved from Atlanta, Georgia to the Seattle area in Washington State.

I sold my house and I left my job. Even though, I don’t have a job yet, and I’m on a strict budget, I’m glad that I made the move because I was desperate for a change.

Has anyone else done this without regret?

Does anyone else wish they could leave it all behind for real not just daydreaming?

Update:

Thank you, to everyone that answered this question, I don’t feel like I’m alone in this need for change anymore.

I went to Australia and started a brand new life. But I brought my Significant Other with me, so I didn't quite leave EVERYTHING behind. And Australia was a dream come true.

I retired from the USN in 2001 and moved to my hometown.

I didn't like the way it had become so overdeveloped and prices for everything were skyhigh.

I moved to the Philippines in January 2002 and have been here ever since. I always wanted to retire on a tropical island and decided to just go for it. I have no regrests. Friendly english speaking people and cheap cost of living. I have no plans to ever return.

I wouldn't want to leave my mom behind, or leave my hometown for good. But I could go for moving to the Mojave desert for a year or two.

I do. I have thought of it off and on for years.

I have a friend who has done it... twice... even leaving a marriage both times.

I applaud your courage in going out there and chasing what you were dreaming about and I wish you luck in making your dreams into a reality.
