you should try to avoid putting everything in as large picture files - it uses alot of bandwidth for both the visitor and the server hosting your site, as picture files are immensely larger than text.

pretty much the only things that need to be pictures are the images down the left hand side and your picture, everything else could simply be large text. of the the 147kb 'footprint' (size) of the page 144kb of that is in 12 picture files - by keeping the only 5 pictures you need and using real text elsewhere the whole size of the page could be dropped to about 40kb/50kb which is obviously alot smaller.

likewise when you need to make changes to the text you will not need to load up a picture in a picture editor, change the text, re-save the image then upload it again - you'd just alter the text in the *.html file and upload it.

using cascading style sheets would allow you to have an elaborate series of links at the top that change size/colour/decoration when you hover the mouse over them, and with only a basic amount of knowledge:

overall though, everything is insanely huge in size - i use a generous display resolution for my monitor meaning everything on your page should be a small area in the midde of the page, yet it's all huge and spills off the right/bottom edge. as an example, on what could be considered the 'average' smaller destop resolution your page looks like this:
