Can I use a cinnamon stick in the fireplace?

while the woods are on? I want some nice smell in the living room. Is it possible?

    You can burn cinnamon sticks in the fire place, but I don't think they will give off a nice cinnamon smell while they burn. They will just burn up. You can simmer them on the stove in a pot of water and they will give off a nice aroma. Or just put them in a jar or attractive dish and set them on a table.

    Yes, it is possible. The scent will not linger all that long however. A better way to achieve a longer lasting effect would be to buy cinnamon leaf essential oil and apply it to areas like baseboards, doors, and doorframes. You might even apply it to a non-pine wreathe that you hang in the room.

    Cinnamon leaf essential oil is inexpensive and you do not need to use very much. One drop goes a long way.
