Did you get period like pain weeks or days before labor?

I'm dialated 1cm and my baby has dropped. Last week I had a closed and thick cervix when they checked and my baby hadn't dropped. Have been getting these period like pain since Saturday on and off. I'm 35.5 weeks, should it be soon now?

hey. i have been going through the same exact thing..i just turned 37 weeks..when i turned 35 weeks..i was still closed..but the doctor hasnt checked whether i dilated in 2 weeks..but i have been getting "period like cramps" which r braxton hicks" contractions..they get you ready for the real thing..if they go away after a lil bit..then they r fake..until you lose your mucos plug and water starts leaking..then u should call a doc right away..on ur next doc appointment,.u should ask your doctor again to c how many more cm's you opened..if u have been having sore hips..and back pain..like i have experienced..then thats also a sign that its coming soon.

Yes, I had period like cramps near the end of my pregnancy. That doesn't necessarily mean you'll be going into labor soon. My first child was 2 1/2 weeks late and my second child was 2 weeks late. Both were induced labors because my body just didn't go into labor on its own.

  • yah contractions feel like period pains ... so most likely your starting to have conractions... they can last for a couple weeks before baby comes... when i had my son i dropped the night before i had him... some people don't drop till after their water breaks rare but
