My friends girl dog licks herself in her "private" area??

She will just be laying down and she will lick herself....in her "private" area.

Why would she do this?

Don't worry, this is nothing to worry about. Most dogs do this, it is just a thing they do. It is a way of cleaning themselves, even though it is a disgusting way of doing it.

That's what dogs do.  The dog is licking herself, right, not the girl?  Cause that would be wrong.  I got a little confused when I read it.

My lab does that too! Our vet said she is fine and does it to clean herself. After all dogs don't use toilet paper, now do they! LOL!

Natural hygene for a dog.  If it bothers you that she does it 18 HOURS a day, then take her to the vet!

she is just cleaning herself. sometimes when dogs are in heat ( their period) they constantly lick to clean. it completelty normal
