how long can i store babies food in fridge?
If I have cooked my 6 month old daughter fresh veggies, how long can i keep it in the fridge? I tend to make a batch, put 2 days worth in the fridge and freeze the rest. However, my mum thinks i am leaving the cooked veg in the fridge for too long and it should be in there for a day maximum.
I prefer to give her fresh because freezing it can lose some of the nutrients but having a 2 year old as well makes it hard for me to find time every day to cook her fresh as well as breast feed.
Additionally, in some of the mushes, i put a dab of olive oil.. would this make it go off in the fridge quicker?
She's not onto fish/meat yet but when she is, what rules would apply here for how long to leave in the fridge? I'm guessing a day?

BABY FOOD: LASTS 1 - 3 DAYS IN FRIDGE ONCE OPENED
An open jar of strained fruits and veggies lasts two-to-three days in the fridge. Opened cooked meat and vegetable combos need to go after a day or two. Meat and veggie combos should go after two days, tops. The bottom line: Don't leave open jars of baby food in the fridge longer than three days. A hidden danger with baby food is that parents may feed babies right out of the jar, so saliva transferred to the jar can promote bacterial growth when placed back in the fridge. If you're using a jar more than once, make sure you portion out what you're going to use, so the dirty spoon doesn't go back into the jar.
Here is what I found... I hope it helps there is a website below too. I hope this helps... this is not a thing that should be guessed i think.

As long as she isn't eating out of the food that your storing in the fridge I would say up to 3 days. However though once the food has come in contact with anything that's been in her mouth, as in a bite not completely eaten, or a spoon stuck in it, it comes into contact with bacteria. The bacteria immediatly starts breaking down the food and therefore can not be kept more than 24 hours in the fridge.

Most foods are 2-3 days, but not at all if saliva is in it. Don't spoon from a container you might put in the fridge.

as long as your child hasnt touched then about 3 days. Once the siliva of a baby touches food it starts to breakdown as this is how babies can digest their food

safest bet would be 1 day for everything - I wouldnt eat 2 day old cooked food so i wouldnt expect my baby to really.
