Any one know about VW's ?

2001 v w jetta, Stall's when first started. I have to rev the engine for half a minute then it idles fine. no problems when driving even at stops it ok. Only when the car sits for a period It will not idle when first started.

Anyone have this problem and or know how to fix it?

    Deisel or Gas? What engine?

    Have it scanned for a fault in the Idle Air Control circuit or anything else that might be happening. Could be one of several things

    call vw specialties in O.C. Ron Wood owns that shop and has diagnosed my problems right over the phone. I was able to buy the part in my home town and fix it myself. Great guy knows his stuff guru some might say.

    There is a switch that speeds up the engine while it is cold. That switch is not working. It's an easy fix.
