I caught my child smoking pot.... again?

I caught my child smoking pot for the second time. The First time I threatened to kick him out of the house if he did it again. He is 16 and I told him he couldn't smoke in my house. I threatened to kick him out on the streets. He just shrugged and said "okay". He left and moved in with his 18 year old friend. I was so surprised. What should I do?

I will look weak if I run back asking him to move back in. He is still going to school and he still maintained his 3.57 average last report card. Hes a stoner, with phenominal grades? I dont understand it.

It looks like he doesn't really need me or his mother, and I didn't want to be too hard on him, but I chased him out. I feel terrible even though hes probably smoking marijuana right now.

His teachers called us the other day to comment on how well he is doing in school and I almost cried. Should I bed him to come back, or let him stay in that apartment with his 18 year old friend? I have no idea

If you're that worried, why don't you call the police to talk some sense into him?

Hi first of all he is 16 and anything he does you are responsible for so with being said you can go to him and say until you are 18 I am responsible for you and I want you to come home.. then you can address the pot smoking tell him about it being a gateway drug and you don't want to see him ruin his life .. obviously he is going to do what he wants but all you can do is try to show him how wrong he is.. At 16 they think they know everything .. I feel for you as I went thru the same thing with my son good luck and hopefully he will wise up...

Make sure he stays out of trouble. In honestly it can't really harm him all that bad, and as long as he goes to school there is really no problem. Tell him that his college aid will be gone if he doesnt move back in with you

not all people who smoke marijuana are stoners; you should talk to him about how much he actually does smoke- it seems that he must smoke only socially especially since he is able to maintain such a good GPA and a good repertoire with his teachers. if he wants to come back allow him and set rules but if he wants to stay with his friend check up on him often and see how the conditions of the apartment are and that everything is good. it is important to keep a good relationship with him, for both you and him.

This time, don't threaten him, sit down and have a conversation, like a friend, because sometimes that is what parents these days lack, communication with their teens. So, ask him why he is doing it. and how he would stop. It's not good, if he doesn't listen, get professional help.

if you've been a great mother and have done your best and still not getting through to him, then let him go. It's hard, but if he thinks he can make in the world without parents to get in student loans and help for college, let him. He'll need to grow up sometime. It won't be long now until his 18 year old friend will forget about him and your son won't have anyone to go to. He needs to learn his lesson on his own.

if hes smokin pot then thats usually normal for a 16year old, im 16 i used to smoke pot but i got over because i know alot of people that are permafried from it and i said screw that and started drinking. as for him movin out, as a 16yr old i think its wrong, i wanna move out but i know i wouldn't be able to provide for my self and all that crap if i didnt have my parents, it doesnt matter if it makes u look weak to ask him to come back hes only 16 and underage so u have the right to ask him to come back even if he is living with an 18 year old it doesnt matter that person is not there legal guardian. i wouldnt suggest telling him ur gunna kick him out if he smokes again he will probaly do it anyway.

If he has good grades there isn't a problem. Smoking weed really isn't all as bad as our government portrays it to be. It's going to be made legal and there's going to be companies promoting it and taxing it and all that government bullshit. Weed really isn't all that bad. A lot of preppy smart kids smoke A lot of marijuana and even professional athletes such as yusain bolt, Michael phelps, and many nfl players. Obama said he used to smoke a lot of weed so who knows. Your son has endless opportunities that marijuana may even help him achieve. And not every one who uses marijuana is a loser . Its people who dont know how to smoke and handle their ****
