Are you getting annoyed by this GAP commercial running right now on Yahoo Answer?

I am certainly getting a little upset by it.

I guess I could just turn my speaker off, still I don't think it's right to impose sound on me like that.

I've seen the option to turn it off, so please don't tell me that.

Update:

Response to MystineG comment #35:

Mystine gave a negative comment regarding this issue.

My reponse to it is that I am mostly answering questions on yahoo answer and people usually benefit from it. Why should i be paying to answer questions? I got nothing against regular ads except that one which does Impose you to hear it when you're trying to help others.....

Update 2:

Again Comment #35

I appreciate your honesty but here is the Merriam-Webster Definition of the word Impose:

To force into the company or on the attention of another <impose oneself on others>

Yahoo impose all users to hear this ad.

Update 3:

Good News! It looks like the ad disappeared! If it's really the case, then, Thank you Yahoo for taking action removing it. It is really a big relief.

I'll keep the question open for a bit longer just in case. But it's looking good as far as I can see

    "Impose"?

Nothing is being "imposed" upon you.

If you don't like it, don't come to Yahoo answers.

I speak the truth, and that's a "negative comment"?

You are the one that is being negative in choosing to blind yourself to what is and accusing Yahoo answers of "imposing" something on you.

Perhaps you don't know what "impose" means?

    Please stop the punishment!! :)

Also, at the very least, the ad is "imposed" at least once if you are a regular user of yahoo answers, after that I guess you can choose to not answer anymore.

That's just a silly semantics argument anyways, the fact is it sucks.

I sucked this out of the page source:

    Standard Inventory Ad; ID:4206; ad:GAP/Tidings/Gap_Tidings_180x150; Owner:gschen@yahoo-inc.com; Company:yahoo; size:180x150; (by adinterax) -->

I'd suggest letting gschen@yahoo-inc.com know this ad is not going over well. :)

You're completely right. Let's say you were listening to music on your computer and the commercial started blaring in your ears over the top of the song. This is force-fed advertising because psychology has proven that exposure (whether positive or negative) increases favor towards something. It's not ethical. This question is even advertising for them.

I asked the same type of question. Let's mark it interesting, like you said, to bring attention to it.

Yes! I'm trying to listen to music on Youtube while answering questions on Yahoo! Answers. The music is really nice and then I here these two people crapping on about something. It's so annoying. They should get rid of it.

the main demanding difficulty through fact the computer virus advert. you may click on the component and turn it off yet having to do it somewhat is demanding. i'm so uninterested in dissimilar advertising courses on the internet and on television besides. it quite is merely too lots enter. All media has to supply up with this advertisting ploy.

I don't see the GAP ad running, in fact there are no ads running on the browser for me, right now!

I agree with you, regarding those type of ads, they can be annoying!

The first time i heard it i shat myself because i wasn't expecting any sound and i was by myself. It's annoying how if i don't want to hear the famous 'Getting high with your family...' i have to not be able to listen to music!

If I hear that woman's hyena laugh, or that guy talking about getting high with his family (??) ONE MORE TIME, I swear I'm going to kill myself.

PS: About it giving you a popup when you try to pause it: The two lines on the pause button are apparently HOLES. You have to click on the grey part and make sure not to click on the actual lines. SO IRRITATING.
