How much time do you think people average on Yahoo Answers a week?
I see some people who have earned 900+ points plus a week. Seems like people should have more to do. Are they doing it during work time? Do they not have any hobbies or volunteer commitments? I like earning points and advancing up in levels but not at the sake of spending hours a day answering questions. Does being a Top Contributor just mean you have more free time than the rest?

There is no exact formula but it requires a lot of answers and best answers in a section, or in three sections.
You need to maintain work in the area or you will loose the TC badge.
They are reviewed weekly.
It is quite easy to get 200 points per day.
100 points for 50 answers.
+60 points for Best answers. ( I am about 16%)
160 points
40 points for 20 more answers or some voting.
I am an early riser so I can do an hour or two early in the day and then an hour at lunchtime and a couple of hours in the evening.
I can't understand the time people put in, who do 7,000+ points per week.
