Well its for a good reason. We do it because we want our kids to enjoy their childhood, not have it wasted away. Also, Parents tell their kids to BE GOOD or they won't come(easter bunny, santa, etc). Elsewise they'd be rotten little brats.

    first of all, who's "they?"

second, Christmas is a Federal holiday. People get the day off but don't necessarily have to celebrate that holiday. There are also various Jewish holidays that many people take off.

third, Easter isn't a federal holiday. It's always on a sunday and people don't get off from school or work for it. Christians celbrate it because it's with their religion.

Last, Santa, the Easter Bunny, and tooth fairy are all Societal flaws so they don't damage the relationship between a child and a parent. It doesn't damage a parents authority or childs sense of right or wrong. If a parent tells a child not to smoke, but the parent smokes anyway, that's different.

I think it is because thats what we were told by our parents and its like a tradition.

is christmas about birth of Jesus Christ? and giving to others, not a marketing object.

Most people do not even know the meaning of easter.

I don't know where the tooth fairy came from.

But you have asked a very good question.
