Is Google Adwords a scam, or what?

I started a campaign on google adwords paying 1 cent per click, and had thousands of keywords. My click through rate was low, but because of all the keywords, I was getting thousands of impressions of my add in searches. I only spent 97 cents and got 14 clicks. Then after a couple hours all my keywords were deactivated, and they want me to raise my minimum bids to 5 or 10 dollars per click. Is this a scam or what? I had great traffic going for a while, can I get it going again?

Rest assured AdWords is not a scam...as Google's stock price can attest. My SEM agency has been managing client AdWord accounts since 2000, and it's our job to make sure these types of situations do not happen. Your issue revolves around Google's QualityScore, a multi-faceted algorithm that evaluates your campaign and determines your placement. These are the primary reasons your campaign is likley generating a low QualityScore:

-campaign configuration (did Google set up your account or did you to it yourself? Regardless, you should have a certified professional configure your account). You should have a balance between campaigns and ad groups, as well as boost conversion with DKI and other techniques.

-keyword selection (you are likely purchasing non-performing keywords that are hurting your click-through rate (CTR) and pulling down more relevant terms. Utilize broad, negative and exact phrase matching, etc.

-ad copy: your ad copy may not be properly optimized to generate clicks, nor tie in the "scent" to your keywords and landing page.

-landing page: this is where your biggest breakdown is probably happening. Google's QS is very particular about what good landing pages look like, so make sure you're following best practices

-budget: you can easily over and underspend...so optimizing your spend based on time of day, day of week/month/year is critical.

There are simply tons of resources out there, these are just a few to geyt you started. Good luck.

I have proof positive that it is more than a scam . . . .fraud is the word I would use.

Any positive answers in this forum would be from employees or those being paid by Google. After all Yahoo is powered by Google!

I created a product & website. Signed up to AdWords . . . . . . it has an elaborate database setup, clicks, averages, bids and yes of course BILLING.

Once up and running I complained of not being able to find my site through a web search. They explained about bidding etc . . . my 'campaign' showed some clicks. I got a bill! I complained again, they smooth talked me, I increased my bids, I checked my webhost logs and they showed ip addresses hitting my site . . . .they sent me a copy of my ad and I sold 1 item. I increased my bids on keywords because others where apparently outbidding me and I got another bill. In a short period I had paid over $600.00 but still I couldn't find my site through a search.

I then had my website scripting reviewed.

What was found was a scripting error. NO SEARCH ENGINE IN THE WORLD WOULD PRODUCE A POSITIVE SEARCH RESULT EVEN WITH AN AD!

So, where did the clicks come from, the log of ip addresses and even the one sale?

Manufactured by Google and or there representatives.

Google AdWords is a multi million dollar FRAUD!!

The CEO and those responsible should be in jail

    Most likely, you need:

    -time

    -better keywords
