Do Polish people still celebrate Christmas Eve dinner with fresh carp, red cabbage and mashed potatoes?

I was there for a short time in winter and I thought this particular Christmas meal was delicious and healthy! Is the tradition still alive or are folks trying alternatives like turkey now?

That's still the mainstay tradition, in a few of the Slavic countries... The Czech Republic still eats the carp as well...

Personally , I prefer the alternative to the tradition... Schnitzel and potato salad. I'm not a big fan of carp, myself...

How could carp be a celebration of anything? Carp are only good to stuff with M-80s and blow them up.
