Shop returns?

Do you have to have the receipt for goods bought when something is returned? We have an unwanted gift and would like to exchange it for something else from Argos but obviously do not have the receipt. Will Argos allow this - I am told the present was bought at Argos.

you almost always need a receipt in order to show proof that you purchased it at that store. Ask the person that you received gift from to provide you with the receipt, if possible. Most stores nowadays, attach a gift receipt into the bag for possible returns/ exchanges.

Call the store and ask what their return policy is.
