Does not need to be iPOD but some limitations have to be considered.

    a) The player have to be seen as a drive by the operating system

    b) Your player will not support AAC files: If you've encoded or purchased AAC files then it's apple format and it's not supported

    c) Some cheap players are very bad with MP3 tags and you might have surprises when searching for music on your device

d)Some manufacturer are well known for being compatible with iTunes (except AAC format again) like Sandisk.

depends if you bought music from the itunes store thats not itunes plus(DRM free) its has to be an ipod. if it is DRM free locate the file and drag and drop onto your mp3 player using Windows explorer

no multiple MP3 players work with iTunes but you may have more trouble with them than with an ipod
