Just baught ice hockey leg pads .. need help!?

I have itech leg pads.. i see there is a strap underneath the foot to go on the skate .. but what is the long lace for on the toe of the pad? There is a hockey skate lace on each pad and it is very long ... where do i tie this to .. on my skate?? and if so where because it is really long

    I think that you need to tie them on the toe of the skate. Im a goalie too but i dont have itech's i have rbk's and they have that long lace on the end too.

    You weave it through the holes of the turk (between the footpart and the blade) starting left in out in and the other one right in out in heading to the back of the skate then you take it and tie it to around the skate, this string keeps your pad from twisting, it keeps the pad square on your leg
