Are organic foods a scam to charge more money?

    In my opinion, YES! I think it is the biggest food ripoff there is except for bottled water.

    Well it's not really a scam if they are clearly labled and priced. It is just like Bottled water. People who buy it think they are getting something special. When the fact is all it is is someone walking to a faucet and filling up a bottle and sticking a label on it.

    The organic backlash came about as people were fed up with all the unknown chemicals in food. But natural items can be just as bad for you so who knows if it is any better or not.

    I started eating free range chicken eggs recently from my own chickens free ranging around my house and I can tell you the eggs are way better than the storebought ones.

    Pretty much. "Organic" farmers still use pesticides, they just use ones that don't qualify as "synthetic pesticides" under some very convoluted labeling laws. Organic farmers will tell you (with a straight face) that they "don't use chemicals", which is hilarious since the whole planet (and you & me & the chickens) are all MADE of chemicals.
