iPod Shuffle -- books and podcasts?
YEAH!! I got an iPod Shuffle for Christmas and I'm really looking forward to getting it charged up and running. My biggest question is: can I load books and/or podcasts on itinstead of music. It has a feature to play tracks in sequence instead of randomly, so I'm hoping this will work. My goal is to be able to catch up on some reading while working out and during my commute. I know I can just read the directions or learn by trial and error, so please don't be snarky...

If you want to listen to Podcasts only, the best thing to do is to (1) use iTunes on the Shuffle, on Music tab, turn off sync; (2) still on the Shuffle, on Podcasts tab, "Sync all episodes of: Selected Podcasts:", check the one Podcast you want to listen to; (3) on iTunes Podcasts menu (on left), make sure you have only one show from that Podcast checked, all others unchecked, (4) sync the Shuffle.
After this, there's only one 'song' on the Shuffle (the one Podcast show), so there's no problem with listening to random songs.
Of course, this means that you have to sync up a lot (switching which show is checked under Podcasts menu) and can't listen to favorite music lists, etc. If that's OK with you, then this is the best way to do it, since you won't have to keep hitting 'next' a million times before you find the right show to listen to.

then put on songs by asking your friends and family

no but i suggest to go to best buy buy a classic get 2 year warranty it will cost only $310.00
