Vichysoisse .. good stuff. I had it first at the Duquesne Club in Pittsburgh, PA, when I was about 9 yrs. old. Akin to cold potato & leek soup.

Strange you should ask that, for I have had that problem on occasion. Especially, if I am in a hurry. I have found that I was spelling some words, like they sounded. And yet, there have been times, some words haven't looked right. So I often have to stop typing and look at that word, until I realize if it is the right spelling or not. Shades of Alzheimers? Who knows. But at least, I recognize it, and stop to cor- rect myself now. And that determines which is Alzheimers, or just plain aging process. Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

    Vichyssoise:

It is a chilled Leek & Potato Soup: Using only the white part of the leek along with chilled sour cream (heavy cream or creme fraiche), potatoes and fresh chives or parsley for garnish.

If it's not chilled then it's called Cream of Leak & Potato Soup.

Vichy was the name of the old government in France, but I don't know about the name of the soup....

Maybe you could google the ingredients if you know them...
