Please help me. My iPod is acting weird.?

My iPod is really weird. When I hook it up to my pc to charge, it says "please wait. very low battery." with like a whirly icon, and it stays like that FOREVER, it doesnt charge at all. Soo I tried to charge it using the wall charger, because I assumed maybe it was the pc, but when I hooked it up using the wall charger, it says that the iPod is corrupt and needs to be restored using iTunes.

how can I restore it if IT NEVER goes off the

"please wait. very low battery" screen?

is there something wrong with the hard drive and the battery!?

    its probably because the battery is old or is not responding to the charge because of a short in the circut board of your i pod.
