Could God possibly exist?

"Nothing" can proceed from nothing. So if there was ever a moment when nothing existed, then nothing would ever have existed. Therefore since we exist, someone who made us also exists, and that someone is God. I think there could be a God according to this statement. Religious and secularists, could there be a possibility of a God existing?

I think you answered your own question. Your question should be: Is it possible for God to not exist? Science proves the existence of God all the time. Mathematically, God has to exist. The laws of physics prove the existence of God. Yet, scientists state every day that at one point there was nothing and then shizam, the next minute there was something. At one time the Earth was nothing but a ball of molten metal and as it cooled, shizam, there we were. And not only did life develop on Earth but a perfect Eco-system developed out of nothing (scientists do not describe it quite so simply but it's the general idea). How ultimately stupid does that sound?

Of course it is possible that a god exists and you were right on until you leaped to a completely unfounded conclusion.

It's like this - Matter and/or energy has always existed (something can't come from nothing, first law of thermodynamics) and things change over time (we see this all around, evolution). Where does a being as complex as a god would have to be come into this? If there is one it surely isn't in the beginning because everything that we know that is complex takes a long time to evolve. Furthermore there is no need for the god hypothesis at all.

God is Mans Creation to cope with the inevitable death that will proceed everything.

Humans dont like the thouhgt of naught.

If there is no god, then what is the point.

Generally, People have to have a reason to be good. i.e Trying to get to "heaven"

no one can just be a good person. why?

why do you need some imaginary person to threaten you with eternal agony to make you behave?

Cant ppl just be good for the sake of it?

To small minded people God's existence is the only answer for our existence .

Our existence may not be a reality. We could just be a dream of "Nothing" or the imagination of "Nothing", or "Nothing" itself.I'm not just saying this for the heck of it. Try not to be small minded and think of all the possibilities.

I personally dont think so. And, here is why......

Religon has caused more wars than any other. If there was a god who is supposed to be all forgiving, all knowing, with all the power, how can a god let this all happen?

If there were a god, and he was all powerful, why did he create being that stab him in his own back?

If there was a god, how can he allow children to be born with all sort of disablilities through no faut of their own?

If there is one, he, she, it must have a very perverted sense of humor.

you recognize that this argument has been debunked a super sort of situations already ideal? Even is led to by employing human beings. to quit the evil God could would desire to abolish loose will and make us all robots perpetually. He would not prefer us to be robots through fact we would be depressing. So he shall we us have loose will. @Amy- you won't be able to havefree will and sinless existence collectively. in actuality that some human beings wil consistently use their loose will for evil. we are able to be robots or have sin. we gained't have it the two approaches. you're a sort of folk who prefer to be waiting to commit any crime you prefer and not circulate to penitentiary.

I suppose it's possible. But each god has as much evidence of existing as leprechauns and unicorns. Even though it's possible that these things exist, it does not mean it's probable, especially if you're talking about one particular god.

    Not an omni-present one

In a sense of what the word god actually means...the word god comes from the word Elohim which means "he who comes from the sky"...which was translated in plural form in Arabic to Allah "those who come from the sky" which in English is god...so a extra-terrestrial visiting man thousands of years ago which they confused to be gods sure its possible..but not fact....although every time god came back in the Koran or in the bible it was always on a chariot or a horse that was on fire but would not burn...that's what head lights would look like to someone who had never seen electrical lights before...

Magic is just science that hasn't been explained yet. The first moments of the universe must have been rather magical, but that does not imply that a god was reponsible.

That's up to you to believe, truly. Does an atom just explode? Was there always something? Or is there some higher force that created all? I'm not saying you can't believe in science and god although most say they conflict....
