This sounds like Roseola . My daughter had it when she was a baby . I had never heard of it before or since . This sudden appearance of the full body rash is one of the symptoms .

It could be just a virus--my 16 month old went through this a couple months ago, but his fever was 103-104 for 4 or 5 days, with no other symptoms. For the most part he was happy and playful, and was eating well. We even took him to the hospital, and they said it was a virus. It pretty much went away on its own. I'd say if he's playful and happy, he's not dangerously sick, but if he does start getting lethargic or his temp goes higher, give a call to the on-call doctor, just to be safe.

Has she been ill, feeling badly, running a temp? If so, could be time for a Doctor. Consider reactions to meds she is taking, especially Ceclor or one of its derivatives as it is infamous for a rash. My Son had a rash that freaked me out when he was 2, that sounds similar, we found out that it was Roseola, not very common anymore but not danerous, just uncomfortable. We had a trip to the emergency room at 4 that turned out to be a Ceclor rash from the antibiotic. Doctor just sent us home and said to take Tylenol on both occasions. Better safe than sorry, probably no biggey but a call to your Doctor will put you at ease.

Agree with someone else's advise on cleansing the liver, especially if it's hives, or any other name that has been attached to the condition.

Start the method suggested straight away, your daughter doesn't have anything to lose, except the rash.

Children can suffer a lot of fluid loss, with a rash, due to overheating of the body.

Try this method. No dairy foods, sugar, or gluten foods.

This could be your child's body reacting to a diet that is unsuitable to her physiology

Avoid any topical creams whatsoever, as these only heat the body.

Plenty of water, water, water, to drink.

No fruit juice or cordial. The child may need a liver cleansing, and this is the way to do it without doctors writing out scripts for something that they really don't know what is causing the reaction.

Hives would be the collective term that many use. But at the end of the day, You want to clear up the problem naturally, and make her feel well in herself.

sounds like Hives, could be an allergic reaction for a new food she tried, or she just could be really upset and her body is reacting to that as well. Give her some children's benadryl and just keep an eye on her until you can take her to the docs. If she get swollen in the face at all take her to the E.R

Is it lacy? That could be Fifths disease (just another of the normal childhood viruses).

It could be a myriad of things - from a sensitivity to a new detergent, to a food allergy, to a virus. I would put a call in to your pediatrician, and be sure to note any other symptoms - fever, pain, itch, lethargy, trouble swallowing, swollen lymph nodes.

Did you recently change your laundry detergent? Or, the soap, lotion, or shampoo you use on your child? Did she just start a new medication?

Sounds like contact dermatitis, which would mean she is allergic to something that has been touching her skin recently.

    Good luck figuring it out.
